Be prepared to spend a few extra minutes at the Google Home page before beginning your search today. In honor of Jim Henson's 75th birthday, Google created a logo in collaboration with The Jim Henson Company that reflects some original Muppets.
The letters in the popular search engine's name were each replaced by a Muppet with a handprint button. When a viewer clicks on the button, they can move the head of the creature above it. If the viewer clicks on the head of the Muppet it will open it's mouth. The reddish Muppet (representing the first 'o') will occasionally shake off his glasses, and the small pink Muppet (representing 'e') will sometimes eat the tall skinny Muppet (representing 'l').
James Maury Henson was born in Greenville, Mississippi on September 24, 1936. He studied Home Economics at the University of Maryland. He is known as a master puppeteer and the creator of the Muppets (monster puppets). Popular Muppet characters include Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy who are stars from The Muppet Show and several other Jim Henson productions; also Big Bird and Cookie Monster, who are some Seasame Street favorites; and even Yoda from Star Wars. Jim Henson died on May 16, 1990. His son, Brian Henson, is now the chairman of The Jim Henson Company.
